They have a new program called Momentum that focuses on eating whole grain, filling foods. Being on an organized program really helped me. I made good friends at the meetings and they kept me motivated. I also highly recommend Kathy Smith's Step Workout video. The video claims step aerobics burns as many calories as running. It really worked for me. In fact, I'm still doing it and I think (hope) it is helping me keep my weight in check during this pregnancy. Here are a few of my favorite quotes/tips . . . 1. If hunger is not the problem, eating is not the solution. (this is hanging on my fridge to stop the emotional eating.) 2. Do the next right thing. (use after you've fallen off the wagon and are thinking of washing down the bacon cheeseburger with a bowl of ice cream)

You can do this!my stay-at-home-momma dramahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15089707747028225086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5364305545025933504.post-43688612066943045222009-02-09T11:25:00.000-08:002009-02-09T11:25:00.000-08:00Amy, that book sounds great! This is one of the key pieces of info that I found while researching for the kids and perfect for a Low GI Diet because it will actually lower the impact on your blood sugar if you combine a carb with a protein or fat, just like you mentioned. For instance, did you know it is better for your body to eat a piece of bread with dipping oil instead of plain??? Who knew! Thanks for the tip and I will be highlighting this in an upcoming post! :)The Ertel Tripletshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00156668992678060688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5364305545025933504.post-39768466582636160592009-02-09T10:22:00.000-08:002009-02-09T10:22:00.000-08:00I just stumbled on a new eating plan. It teaches you how to combine foods to give you the most benefit and to feel good. Like having an apple as a snack is good, but if you pair it with protein, as in some nuts or a piece of cheese, it will be more beneficial to your body and energy levels. I enlisted my Mom to do it with me. (Thanks Mom) and she found the book on Amazon for $8. I can send you more info from the book if you are interested before you spend too much energy getting it to find out it won't work with your PCOS. But it sounds like it will. It even promotes a cup of hot cocoa every night before bed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
